My local telephone company is fairly progressive for a rural area and has succeeded in deploying iptv in our small community. However, they have disabled the DVR feature on the scientific atlanta ipn603mcg. I want to build my own dvr now so that I have control over how much disk space i have rather then them. How would I connect to the ipn603mcg to do that? I'm figuring I'll have to set up a video capture card but how will it automatically tune to the stations I want?


I've had a DISH DVR for years and it works great, I just want to be able to do the same thing with my ipn603mcg!!! Please help.

You would need a tuner card with an IR blaster to change channels on the box. You may have better luck finding info in the Home Theater PC section of this forum.
