Hello, I have purchased the radio shack a/v transmitter and receiver and the pic and sound are great. The only thing is the remote control extender does not work, making the unit worthless.

Any tips on setting a ir remote extender(bedroom up stairs to catv box downstairs) .The cable box has a irda port on the back,what exactly is this for?

The unit I bought has the ir to rf remote feature but it seems like it's just not getting the signal downstairs to the basement unit........about 80 ft away

Are you using the same unit to transmit the a/v and IR? If so, it sounds like you just have a problem with the placment if the IR emitter.
