I have no idea what I need but let me explain my situation

 

1. I have an LG Home Theater Reciever (TS913SS) that I need to store behind cabinet doors.

2. There isnt a 3.5mm IR Port on the back of this thing

3. What is the simplest and most cost effective solution that allows me to operate the unit with the door closed.

Monoprice has a $20 IR repeater that works great. Put the IR receiver where your remote can see it, run the supplied cable (or use Cat5 if you need a longer run) to your cabinet where you'd locate the connecting block & put an IR emitter over the eye on your LG.

Edit: The connecting block needs to plugged into a wall outlet.

I bought one as my older Xantech IR sensor wasn't dual-band & wouldn't work with my satellite receiver. Worked great, but then Logitech sent me a Touch to replace my Harmony One due to a swollen battery.
