I'm looking to purchase the Harmony One remote for my game room (No RF). My projector is 14' from the screen wall and components. I'd like to have an IR Receiver mounted up front that just gets the IR signal to the projector. All other components are on the front wall as this is a game room with movie watching ability. I want the power block to be up front, so I need to be able to send the emitter signal about 30' from control block.

I have a SmartHome Hidden IR system, but the Receiver cable is only 6' and the emitter wires are only 7'.

Options with current equipment appear to be:

1. Make a longer wire for one the emitters (will this even work)

2. Rewire current IR reciever with a longer wire (it has an RCA type plug on end)

3. Replace whole system

Any ideas?

I can put the controller block by the projector if there are no other options.

I have emitters located 150' from the rack with old Phast systems. You can use a "1/8" extension cable" to extend most emitters. You can find them online cheap. Or you could just cut it in half and splice in a piece of Cat5.

Awesome, I just wanted confirmation before I cut up my wires.

Soldered in a 30' length of Cat3 I had laying around. Tested it with the projectors factory remote and it works a dream!

Thanks for your help.
