There is only one local store that has isf techs. They charge $250. Is this a fair price and how do i know if they are any good or not? The store they work for is fairly reputable but does that mean they are good calibrators?

What are they calibrating?

The going price out on the Left Coast is $800 for a good calibration (front projection). This is not necessarily ISF calibration. There's more to the art than just ISF certification. Just got a quote from a Santa Rosa individual for that price.

The guys at the local store may be good at whatever it is that they actually do, but for $250 you are definitely not getting a full blown calibration. Bob Smith's price is in the ballpark. Louis Carliner charged me a little over $600

to do my RPTV.

Do a search here or on the CRT forum to find out what a comprehensive calibration actually involves.
