Are there any receiver's or pre/pro's with 7 AV inputs ?

Most new receiver's these days still only have around 5 AV inputs and 2 or 3 audio only inputs but with a sat, vcr, digital, analog tv (oz is still behind in digital tv as with everything  )and dvd's, game consoles, etc etc i don't think 5 is enough. I know I need at least 7 AV inputs, but cant seem to find anything that will accommodate this ?

Try running several of your least used and least critical sources through a separate switcher with one output into the receiver. Your VCR and analog TV signals should not have a problem with a cheap Radio Shack switcher, they won't look good no matter what.

I use a $25 RS AV switcher for component video and the signal degradation is pretty hard to notice.

Yeah I was thinking of something like that. Are they remote controlled ?

No they are manual. You need to press the switch for the desired channel. It's a 4:1 switch.

I haven't yet found any real inconvenience from the lack of a remote switch. Don't switch much back and forth anyway.

Thanks I'll look into it.
