Is a DVI card worth the extra $100+ over a VGA-component converter???

Hello,

I am trying to figure out if it is worth the $100+ extra to invest in a DVI card for my panny 7uy. I want to run DVD via compenent and HD and SD via VGA or DVI. Let me know what you guys think about that converter and/or DVI card and how it has worked out for you.

Thanks,

Gimi

That depends on what the source is.

I found that component output from comcast cable box (6412) is better than DVI from it. The color on component is better and much sharper for my taste.

Your mile may very though.
Thanks for your reply MSkim

That's good, because I also have the comcast box. I think I'll just run the DVD via vga-component converter. I definitely would have thought the the DVI port on the comcast would have a better image than the component port. I guess in my mind, the thicker the cable, the better. I guess not in this casae huh?? Did you try your comcast DVI to DVI direct, or via converter?? How do your run SD on your comcast??
