My G90 is getting long in the tooth , my red tube is shorted and so my color is way off. The sharpness is still spot on but really need to do something. I came across a VPL-FHZ700L which I might get get sub 1k . My room is bright so having a super bright projector would be nice . I'm floor mounted into a 16x9 dayllite screen so I think the throw will be fine. Just wondering about the contrast ratio.
Thanks
David

Business class projector, so contrast will not be very good. But you also are not paying very much.

The front of my lens is about 10 feet from a daylite 120 16x9
Coming from a G90, I would be looking at JVC, Sony or even Epson UB models for your room. I would also consider looking into better light control. A used or B-stock would work well for that size screen and give you a much better picture than the projector you are looking at.

Says 8000:1 on off above. Not terrible. LOADS of light from the laser engine too.

Yes, will be above the 1,000:1 of current DLP and below the Epson 5050UB at 6,000:1.
Until/unless someone/anyone has measured one then I guess we will never know for sure. ;)

True, but can you show me any business class projector with native contrast above 4,000:1? I usually see those that use LCD panels at 2,000:1 at best.

It’s 2K and only 8 bit.
Seems like a used anything else could give you so much more. You could “make it work” I guess, but coming from a CRT you may find it ultimately frustrating.

Hey all

"I have a couple brand new Runco Q-750i. For those that dont know, its a single chip 1080p DLP LED projector. that means NO color wheel, amazing contrast and color. I have standard and long lenses available. I dont have the original boxes, but it will be well packed. I aquired them when Runco was cleaning out inventory.

$800 plus actual shipping. pics https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...j2?usp=sharing

Here's what I'd buy. Pretty great price for an amazing projector. Use a high gain screen (or maybe you already have one). Done.
