SDI is a digital audio video interface (serial digital interface). It is standard definition, and is a broadcast standard (not consumer). HD-SDI is the HD version. It uses a single coaxial cable with a BNC connector.

an I connect an video composite to a HD-SDi connector using a BNS connector ?

No, it would connect, but the signal is not compatible. BNC for analog video is just a composite video signal with no audio (like an RCA video plug). BNC for SDI handles digital video, audio, and timecode. Perhaps Blackmagic has another device with an analog composite AV input?
