I have a Toshiba SD-K625U five disk DVD player and Toshiba's customer support told me that none of their players are compatible with the DVD+R format. I know for a fact that is wrong, the compatibility list reveals that. I just can't seem to find my player on any of the lists so I am not sure if mine will play the +R discs.

Any help is appreciated

Thanks,

James

Did you read your manual? I've never seen a Toshiba play +R's. I haven't seen all of them but 5 diff. models will not.

Thank you very much Petey!

I could not find the model number of my player on any of the lists. Thanks for taking the time to look it up. It looks like it will play the +R discs. Now to decide if I should buy a DVD+R (the Plextor PX-504A/SW DVD+R/RW) or wait for the prices to drop and the drives to improve.

Thanks again,

I have an old Tohsiba 3109 DVD player and it only plays DVD+R's that have the bitset to DVD-ROM. That means I cant play and DVD+R's that come from a Sony writer since they are not bitsettable (is that even a word?). The writers that I have the best luck with are HP's since they are set to DVD-ROM by default. and all brands of DVD I have tried have worked (HP, Maxxel, and Fuji). My Tosh DVD will not play the -R's.
