I am, I think I lucked out with both sets I own!
Same here. I posted in the 5% gray scale thread and saw a lot of pics that wouldn't be visible to the naked eye.I am, I think I lucked out with both sets I own!
Just saw it, your uniformity is gtg. Yeah that thread can cause anxiety for sure...but with good reason.Same here. I posted in the 5% gray scale thread and saw a lot of pics that wouldn't be visible to the naked eye.
Does it really matter? I mean unless it's something extreme. I understand considering the price of these devices people get nervous and want the best they can get for their dollar. But sometimes it seems to go into the paranoia category. lol
I wasn't even stressing over it tbh because I have no desire to take it back. Just looking for opinions.Just saw it, your uniformity is gtg. Yeah that thread can cause anxiety for sure...but with good reason.
The only reason I upgraded from a C8 was because of the 4K120fps issue, which it couldn't do.I don't stress over perfect picture because I upgrade my TVs every year anyway. More often than my phone which I do every 2 years. Yeah, I got a problem.
Yup ! A big one!I don't stress over perfect picture because I upgrade my TVs every year anyway. More often than my phone which I do every 2 years. Yeah, I got a problem.
I think some do. There have been certain complaints that I wouldn't even notice. I don't look for dead pixels anymore.I love the topic of this thread. I get the feeling that many here intensely scrutinize their new display from inches away, and intensely study slides, looking for any small defect, rather than sitting back, watching movies, and enjoying it. There is no such thing as a perfect display, and if I don't see any major defects with normal content, I for one don't worry or obsess about it.
I think we're on the same page. Any display with obvious defects, such as banding or grids that are visible at normal viewing distances with normal content, should be returned. But many here obsess over minute issues not even visible in normal content, and I have seen posts from some who have returned 6 displays in a row and then complain how the store gives them a hard timeI think some do. I agree there's no perfect anything, but to me banding, tint, and grids are a little different than saying a TV can't be calibrated to perfection. Or the blacks are not quite deep enough. The issues we have seen here are adding to the picture in a way that I think is unacceptable.
The fork in the road -- which trips a lot of people up, including me -- is what one defines to be "normal content". For example, if "normal content" is intended to include dark panning shots.I think we're on the same page. What I mean by normal content are movies and TV shows, as opposed to slides showing minor issues not seen in movies/shows at normal distances. The fork in the road -- which trips a lot of people up, including me -- is what one defines to be "normal content". Which probably means I am not in the camp of people able to just enjoy the TV without stressing over it, but I'm getting there. Twelve steps. LOL.
