In wire, bigger is better - provided it can fit into the terminals. :)


That braid probably isn't doing you much good, but it looks cool!

The smaller the gauge the bigger, and the bigger the less resistance it will have over long runs. 12 gauge is usually plenty sufficient for very long runs, and it's cheap in big spools, so most people just run 12 gauge everywhere. 14 is ok, much smaller than that is probably not the best for long runs.
