Is everything going to be HDTV by 2006 or just DTV?

Sorry to ask, my friend is wondering and wasn;t exactly sure what the standards are set to be. I thought it was just going to be Digital TV by 2006 with more HDTV coming later?


Any insight?

I just did a google search, which I should have done first and figured it out. Nevermind the question.
