Hello folks,

Newbie here....been a silent visitor for some time here. I purchased a sony kp51ws510 last week.

I was wondering if hdcp is enforced on the DVI input? I am unable to get this info from the owners manual....

HDCP is enforced by DVI output device not input device. When you buy a TV w/ DVI, you want it w/ HDCP. Are you try to disable HDCP or try to find out if your TV supports HDCP?

Well this may sort of clarify that it does:

http://news.sel.sony.com/pressrelease/3369

It is a press release for Sonys 2003 line although they are focusing on the WS550 series

"The WS550 series feature Digital Visual Interface (DVI-HDTV) connection, which enables copy-protected, high-definition video content to be delivered to the TVs from a DVI/HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) compatible set-top box, such as Sony's SAT-HD200 HD receiver. "

Don't see why the DVI interface on the WS510 models would be any different.
