Since most 2 year old receivers can still do 4K pass through, how much of a difference would 60 fps pass through make? My future plan is to be completely 4K proof within 1-2 years. I will be gettng a 4K TV and will stream 4K content from my PC.

If you are certain that 4K will survive and that you will implement it, then it would be more convenient to wait for HDMI 2.
