I have a Boxlight 600m in my classroom, and the only way to get a good pic is through the computer I have running DVDs. I also have a DVD player hooked up through S-Video, but there is no comparison. I am buying a projector for my home, will I have to hook my computer up to the Proj. in order to get the same PQ, or will a good Progressive DVD player with component be okay. Because I see screenshots on here all the time and what I'm getting doesn't look ANYWHERE near that good unless I use the computer's output.

To go without a HTPC, your best option is to get a pj with DVI input to pair with a DVD player with DVI output. A good prog scan DVD via component should also be vey decent, IMO.

The easy answer is that it can be, depending on what player, filters, etc; you use. This is a discussion better handled in the HTPC forum however.
