Sometimes when watching movies via PC i tend to pause it

anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 hour.

Will this harm my DVD or DVD rom player ?

Thanks so much : >

Blue,

Pasuing the DVD player for long periods of time will not harm your player or DVD. Now, there may be problems with your display. If you have the screen saver disabled and then pause the playback for long periods then yes you may cause some burn in. What you may experience is some localized heating on the disk due the laser tracking the same spot over and over but these lasers are pretty low power. Do you have a owner's manual for the DVD drive? See if there is any thing in it regarding leaving the player paused for any lenght of time.

Not worried about burn in. I change to regular TV (stretch mode) when i have it on pause.

Hunted down manual and nothing about leaving it on pause for extended periods at a time.I have been doing this for a long time and see no negative results.

Oh well, just wondering.
