Yes and no. Using multiple projectors (blending) has been done with both CRTs and digitals. Check out the CRT forum and the Constant Height forum for details.

Is it possible to run multiple projectors to really surround yourself?
I was just wondering if it was possible to run multiple projectors against 3 screens.
1 centered 2 at 30 degrees off each edge. Kinda like the curved screen effect.
Is it possible to do that? Is there software on pc to span a movie on three screens?

There are several hotels here is Las Vegas that have set-ups where a single image is spanned across multiple displays, either flat-panel or projected. Some pretty sophisticated video processing involved...

Been done since the 60's and likely earlier, I suspect.
It might be better as RP though, as with FP you will impact CR negatively.
