Is it possible to tilt a "Picture frame style" mount?

My 55" Samsung LED is above a fireplace so it needs a slight angle for improved viewing 5 degrees would be perfect. I would love to use a thin Picture style hanger and I noticed that a lot of them have kickstands in order to aid with the installation of cables. Obviously this tilts the TV in the opposite direction but seems to indicate there is some slack and flexibility, was wondering if i could maybe use similar kickstands or shims at the top of the TV to safely angle the TV slightly downwards?
