Hi all,

i read sometime ago few posts about this, but i cannot find them now.

Basically I set up kid's PC as stand alone MC7 with capability to watch TV using HDHomeRun tuner. (HDD only 80GB, so recordings will be very limited). But I set up a home group and shared DVD folder and Recorded TV folders from main HTPC (1.5TB of storage). Everything looks good and working good unless main HTPC is in S3 sleep mode. Where and how I can make main HTPC to wake up for kid's PC if it is up and running? I have MCE tools ver. 0.9098 installed on both computers. I have a feeling that it can be done very simple way, but cannot figure it out on my own.

Thanks for the tips

Yes, it's done. but anything else needs to be done to "tell" main HTPC to wake up for only a particular extender PC and not for anyother PC in the house. i have several other XP PC's that on the same network but doesn't have to get any streaming media from main HTPC.

so far i was not able to get it done, unless i'm phisically wake main HTPC up.

thanks, guys

WOL should only activate if a request is sent directly to that computer, if you have them on a hub instead of a switch or a router, then all traffic is getting sent to it, regardless of whether it's actually needed at that system or not, so it'll wake up any time there is any traffic on that hub. As far as it just not waking up, I'm not sure I've somehow never had it be an issue.
