Is it time for a video card upgrade???

Hi all, this is my first post...I have an 8" Electro Magnetic focus Nec projector with a 100 " screen. I am now running PowerDVD circa 1998 and a Radeon 7200 video card...Is this stuff old tech???...The pic looks quite nice @ 1024x768 with an anamorphic squeeze...My question is would say a 9600 Radeon or a 6600 Nvidea with a new Zoomplayer make a difference in the video quality? I only use this setup for DVDs only...I would like to add FFDshow but not sure I am capable of setting it up properly...All advice greatly appreciated....AL...

IMO, if it ain't broke...

However, if you really want to tamper with your perfectly usable system, I suggest getting something like Norton Ghost and backup your current config. Then you can download a trial of Theatertek, which uses the Nvidia decoders. You probably will get a nice improvement in picture quality even with the Radeon 7200 video cards. Then if you still aren't satisfied, an upgrade to a Geforce 6600 may help.
About a year ago, I decided that my setup (Radeon 7500, ZoomPlayer, and Sonic decoders using overlay) was outdated and needed to be upgraded. To make a long story short, I went through 3 video cards (Radeon 9600, 6600GT, and Radeon 9800 Pro), a lot of frustration, and countless hours of tweaking before I was finally happy with my new setup (9800 Pro, ZoomPlayer, and the Nvidia decoders using VMR9). Is it better? Yes, but I don't know that it's enough better to justify the time and expense I went through upgrading.
Thanks guys...Sound like a hassle to upgrade...Do you think getting a new software player will help??? My Powerdvd software is 7 years old...Wondering if a new player will enhance the video ...Thanks...Al...
