Ideally, you want the center of the screen at eye level. That can be hard to do with large screens.

From a room design standpoint, it wants to be centered, vertically and horizontally, on that wall. Low furniture in front doesn't spoil the framing of the display in the room.

Have fun,
Frank
Yeah. Too high. Keep the center of the screen less than a foot above eye level, and imo less is better (i.e. center of tv screen 6" higher than eye level). Some of this is just preference and some of this is how you tend to sit watching tv (I.e. if you recline a lot you might want to mount the tv higher), but it is most comfortable to have just an ever so slight upward tilt to your head when watching.

We have been here before. People who tell you to lower your screen without taking into account your seating are giving advice without sufficient and relevant data.

In my opinion, screen height should be such that when in your normal viewing position, you are looking straight at your screen without needing to raise or lower your head or eyes.

This will depend on your seating. I watch from a reclining home theatre chair, and when reclined at my preferred angle, my (high positioned) TV is exactly where my eyes are naturally looking.

It is NOT eye level that is relevant: it is the natural focus angle of your eyes in your normal sitting position. In a fairly straight-back lounge chair - yes, the screen needs to be lower. In a reclining chair with your head angle upwards. The screen needs to be higher.

Thanks for the advice I will lower it 6 inches and then it should be perfect
Personally I like my TV as low as possible these days since they're so large (tall).

Cool pad.

I don't think 6" will make much of a difference. As others have pointed out, best to eye level. I'd suggest lowering as much as possible. Leave enough room for your sound bar.

The closer the speaker is to the tv, the better the impression the sound is coming from the tv.

If possible have a couple people hold the tv in the place and have someone sitting where the viewing position is. Ok here, up or down?
