My HT room is 18x18 and I was wondering if the Orb Super 8 would be strong enough for this size room. All opinions welcomed.

That's a pretty decent size room. I would probably step up to a 10" or 12".

Will,you can go with a 15" but may be over kill for the room.

Its strong enough for the room, but doesnt have the sub 25 hz frequency response that SVS, HSU and other bigger subs offer. So overall its good for music but you are missing a whole dimension of sound for HT applications.

You are missing alot of the low stuff that we bass addicts love feeling.

I have an Orb Super 8 and an SVS CS Ultra. I would start with the Super 8 (as it provides midrange for the Orb satellites), and add a HSU or SVS a bit later. The Super 8 matches well with the satellites in a way a large woofer doesn't (and does it's job well), but in no way compares to a HSU or SVS sub in terms of depth or extension.

I run my orbs with a PC-Ultra and an MBM-12.


Crossed at 100hz or 120hz.


Love it.
