Ok, the title is harsh but his inbox over flows and he has not posed any new videos or updates. He is on just about every major social network but is absolutely silent. Now that in itself is not so bad, but about the only thing you can do is still "buy" a screen from his web site. "Click the button to send money", doesn't work for me so much. Mind you that does not stop Nigerians from trying it every day, it takes some hard work to find that one in a million opportunity. Anyway, I guess there is much more to a successful business then just a great product.

I also would like to think more long term AVS users would have tried it & posted some screen porn or comments by now if this was the real deal.

I recall a story about a hobbyist who was selling custom subwoofer drivers made in china who completely got hosed by poor quality control after a solid first run of the product (the factory does not take returns). I think you need to be moving "lots" of product to have pull or mitigate the potential for the rear admiral when dealing with over seas manufacturing.

I hope that's not what has happened to him.

I believe you are talking about Kevin with DIY Cable. It was not just a successful first run. Kevin was in business for several years and made great products. I still have a couple of his drivers. The factory where he had his products built, changed the glue (probably to save a few pennies) and internal parts failed. Kevin reimbursed all of his customers that received defective product and it put him out of business.

It's really, really hard for an underfunded startup business with no previous experience to find reliable suppliers in China. Even the big companies with deep pockets run into problems as Da-Lite apparently did with its High Power 2.8 screen material.

I really hope not. I Just got a screen but if he comes back with a 125"-135" size i would buy it right away.
Well Masterface, I feel the same way.

I think there very much is a market for something like this. It's not going to be perfect, and it's never going to make an av connoisseur happy. However if performs halfway decently in the sweet spot, I would think people will buy it and be happy.

It's not a Euro super car, it's not a muscle car , it's a Neon SRT (ok maybe even Fiero) and that's more then enough to get a decent speeding ticket.
