A local dealer is offering $2k for Samsung un55c9000. They mentioned that new models are coming in so there just want to wipe them out. Is this a good deal or should I wait for newer models? I currently have a Toshiba 46" LCD HDTV at home, and frankly not in a hurry to get another one unless it is really a steal.

Yes it is. I payed $3,100 for un55c8000 nine months ago. But the new "d" series have nice improvements. I will sell my tv and get an un60d8000 or the plama version 63d8000.

not anymore, the much cheaper un55c8000 had better picture quality. Now the newer D7000, D8000 have improvements in picture, features and have a new design that looks better then anything out there "the only thing the c9000 had going was its looks and touch remote". Now the new D7000, D8000 both can use the touch remote with duel view. I just feel the c9000 was never worth its MSRP and more of a prototype tv for design and features. You're better off getting a newer d7000, d8000 or a c8000.

@gagit. Yes what you said is true. C8000 has better picture than c9000. What makes 9000 fancy is the thinnest display and remote. But for the price is a steal if you compared when released in which it was like $7,000. Either way I prefer the new d8000 series. I will sell my c8000 and get the 59"d8000 as soon as they come out. Save the money and get d8000 series. 25,000,000:1 contrast ratio vs 6,000,000:1 is HUGE; plus in addition of all new enhancements of the d8000 series.
