Im looking to get a HT-S6100 as soon as I have the funds. In the meantime, my boss gave me an ad for a Samsung HT-Z420 HTS. It looks nice and all and the price is pretty good. I have been trying to educate myself on what makes a good and bad system. I have been wanting to get the HT-S6100, as I know it is not pass thru (amoung other things I like about it). It never seems like it is easy (at least for me) to tell if a system is pass thru or not. The HT-Z420 lists amoung its features "HDMI with 1080p up-scale". Does that mean it is not pass through or does something from its list of audio specifications below give it away? Is it not Pass thru because it has a No next to all of the DTS sections. Any help to educate a newbie would be appreciated.
