I have lost track since CEDIA. Is the informed word still hold off on buying in this price catagory because something better is right around the corner?

Obviously, in the under 5 catagory the buy sign is almost lit up, with the Panasonic AE 500 being preordered now, Z2 and the Sony not far behind.

I waited for 2 years to buy. Now though, I believe that the technology is stable enough that you can make a purchase that will bring you years of enjoyment.

I think the technology is still developing and evolving are a pretty fast pace but that is not a good reason not to buy and start enjoying your own home theater. If you're worried about how long your equipment will be considered near the top of the performance curve you will probably never pull the trigger because right now it takes only a few months for the top dog projector to be replaced.

Many of today's projector put out a great picture and are a lot of fun to own.

Start enjoying now.

Why do so many people that know better repeat that? As you know, for practical purposes, new projectors come out once a year at CEDIA.

Otherwise, I agree with your sentiments.
