Not only can I not get online, I can't play games from discs or purchased from PSN. Only demos are working. I get Error 8001050F for everything.

Same here as the above posted error code (8001050F), after reviewing (googling the code) it seems that only the 60 gig model is having the issue, which is what I have... I hope a fix is coming soon, I need my MW2 fix

I have a 60gb connected via a wireless bridge, and a 40gb hardwired to the router, and they both aren't connecting to the PSN. (error code 8001050F)

60 gig version here, and I can't sign on either.

My friend has a 60gig and cannot sign on as well. I haven't tried playing any games myself, but my friend says he can't even play assassins creed 2 at all because it won't log on to sync trophies, or something to that effect.

I guess we can't complain too much when PSN goes down considering it's free, but when you can't even play single player games, that's a serious problem, IMO.

Unbelieveable that when the PSN is down, we can't play our games? Right now I can't play Heavy Rain?

Since when is it a requirement that you have to be connected to PSN to play games?

Unfreaking believable. And Sony wonders why they've had their a** handed to them by Microsoft and Nintendo over the last 2-3 years?

I find it disgusting that these companies are requiring consumers to be connected in order to play the game. This just doesn't fly with me.

I see lots of talk about 60GB getting this issue. I was getting it earlier on my Slim...and now my Slim can't get on.

I also have a 60GB in the bedroom and that one has the same exact problem.

I don't believe this is just contained to the 60GB model.

i dont know who to blame, as i dont pay particulars to who does what with which servers or peer connections or all that techy stuff, but mw2 has been lagging like none other the past few days.

and commando is getting out of hand...walking through a clip of m16 with stopow to knife someone is just ludicrous

It's not that we don't have anything else to do. Right now I am watching the closing Olympic ceremonies and before that I was watching Canada hand the US a beating in hockey.

Yes, I have lots of things to do, it is the principle that games require you be connected in order to work, which I never knew was a requirement with Sony. This is now making me think twice about purchasing a game from Sony over Microsoft as far as I know you can play games you purchase from Microsoft on their system without requiring an Internet requirement.

I am sure that in the next few days this will be a major topic of discussion in the Internet because it does change the dynamics of gaming. While my connection at home is quite solid, Sony is changing the dynamics of the gaming industry with this requirement and I am sure others will agree.
