Is there a simpler HD solution for me?

Thanks for the responses to my hardware and programming quesitons from yesterday.

With regard to programming, is there a chance that I don't need to install a new Direct TV system at all?

I have Dish now, with a single dish pointed at 119. I'm happy with the service, which is _not_ Top 150, as I have never upgraded to Dish 500. I also get HBO.

I now have a DTC100, and I'd like to get HBO in HD and HDNet. I had resigned myself to getting rid of the Dish system and going to Direct. But in looking over some past threads, it appears that HD programming from Direct is at 119. Is that correct? And, if so, can I just drop HBO from Dish and call Direct to order HBO ala carte?

I guess this is also a hardware question. Is it as simple as just splitting the single feed in from the dish and the presumably single LNB that I have now? If so, do I just need a good splitter and to block DC in one of the lines? Again, thanks in advance - Pat

That sounds like a plan. But I would offer that rather than mess around with a splitter and then as such any potential conflicts which there may be, just go ahead and and put the money towards a dual lnb (if it's not already) so each receiver can have a dedicated source.

You say you now have a DTC-100. Have you disconnected your Dish receiver and hooked up the DTC-100 to the line yet to check signal strength or anything?
