Is there a way to send music from my computer to my receiver Onkyo TX-SR803 wirelessly?

The receiver is older so it doesn't have internet connection and I have music on my computer across the room.

Is there some kind of an adapter to allow this?

Sure ... just connect an Apple TV or Airport Express to the 803.

This is in my office. I do not have a tv or ps3 or anything like that in there.

I was hoping to find some kind of wireless RCA connection, it is only 10' as a straight.

Do you have a wireless router in your office?

If so, I think the airport express would work for you. It has an audio output that you could connect to the receiver.

I have a wired router in there...

I was hoping to find something less expensive/simpler if that exists.

Well the simplest and cheapest thing to do is run an audio cable along the baseboard from your computer to the receiver.

Two cables would cost you about $3.50 plus shipping.

If your computer happens to have digital optical output then use this cable instead for under $3.

If you must have a wireless solution then maybe someone else will chime in with an idea.

I think this is what the OP might be looking for.

It is a wireless transmitter and receiver. The receiver connects to the AVR via RCA or 3.5mm and the transmitter connects to the PC via USB port. There are lots of them that need a Bluetooth connection but this one is 2.4 GHz RF, which should work a lot further away than 6 feet. If you want one that will also work with a PMP or Smartphone, then you'll need a wi-fi or Bluetooth with a USB dongle for your computer.

I haven't tried anything like this myself because I'm already net-connected to my PCs or I can just jack my PMP or Tablet right into my AVR using HDMI or USB.
