Is there any DTS on OTA-HD (Networks) or Dish-HD & DirecTV HD?

Is there any DTS on OTA-HD (Networks) or Dish-HD & DirecTV HD, or is it just variations on Dolby Digital 5.1/6.1?

The reason I ask is I may need a Technics SHAC300D (DD Only) or the SHAC500D (DD & DTS) for a Dish 5000/Panny Combo.

Thanks in advance.

There are no networks doing DTS, that I am aware of right now. It would be kinda cool if they did. I like Dts, so if you have a dvd player going into this receiver as well, you may want to think about it. Anyways, Good luck with your purchase.

Today there was another topic on this in the forum, and I guess they are in development of DTS being on some OTA channels. Check out The DTS website for more details.

Dolby Digital is the legally-required, FCC-mandated standard for audio encoding for the over-the-air ATSC DTV standard. Nothing precludes dts being sent as part of the datastream as well, short of some standardized way of doing it. But Dolby Digital is the "required" standard.
