In its day it was a good, solid amplifier..

But $700 is too high, $450-500 would be my max estimate. Keep in mind, B&K is out of biz so service and parts would be a challenge..

I was thinking about offering him 500.  That Ebay ad where bidding starts at 500 is the same guy as the craigslist ad.  The plus is he lives about 2 miles from me so I can go check it out before I buy, and no shipping, which is a huge plus for me.  It's basically an Emotiva xpa-5 which retails for 1000, and was the amp I was looking at.  500 seems fair to me.

I agree with the others. I wouldn't spend $750 as you can find a used XPA-5 for not much more and still under warranty. At $500, the B&K does offer good power for the dollar, but do you really need 200 wpc?
