I just want to start off with a cheaper unit, $450, before i get into something like the epson 8350.

This is not an HD projector, you would be better off with a 720p HT projector, this is for presentations.

its resolution is only 1024x768. for around 500$ you can get a acer H5360 that is 720p HD and will do 3d also.

ok i found the acer on ebay for about $550 new. SO i'll keep my eye out on that guy. Here's the room it's going in. From front to back it's got about a 12 foot throw. THe screen will go where the arcade units are at now and the projector will hang in front of the KU jayhawk. Is a 12 foot throw long enough? Is there certain feature sI should look for in a projector?
