I just saw the new Mitsubishi DLP rear projector at a local store (The Little Guys Home Theater.) The picture being displayed just blew me away, better than any other hi-def tv I've seen yet. However, it only looked great on the in store HDTV feed (you know the one: football, hockey, Peter Frampton.) I asked to see other program sources, and they showed the roof antenna. Both digital and analog pictures looked like crap. The Rosie O'Donnel Show (something I wouldn't ordinarily watch) was stretched to fit 16:9, and had a lousy picture. Jeopardy was also lousy. Direct TV picutres were ok, but I was very disappointed in the OTA signal. I realize that Rosie and Jeopardy aren't filmed in hi-def, but is this really what we should expect?
BTW, the set was calibrated with video essentials.
Thanks guys!
