The hardware looks fine, but you're going to run into tearing problems with both Silverlight and Flash in WinXP (need Vista or Win7 for Aero).

Can't say for certain, but I assume it has all the same video features as the 8x00 line, so it should be OK. Power draw will be high for an HTPC though. I don't know what these are going for used, but it might be worth selling and getting another GPU.

NVIDIA Quadro FX 4600's go for pretty high prices on Ebay. Sell it and get a GT430- the world's greatest HTPC card.
