We had a MAJOR TWC digital phone outage today in Metro Milwaukee Wisconsin that resulted in the loss of phone service for 12 hours. Unable to get through to TWC Customer Service due to busy signals all day, our service was restored by resetting our phone modem:

If you are out of Phone Service or High Speed Internet Service:


1.) Unplug the power cord to your modem or router that affects the service you want to restore. If it is your computer, close out of all open Windows.


2.) Wait 30 seconds.


3.) Plug the power cord to your modem or router, giving the machine 2 minutes to reactive all the proper lights.


4.) Your modem should now be working, if your computer is still not working, reboot your machine.

it was just the phone service, what was really odd was that when someone called the caller id info showed up on the tv but the phone wasnt ringing.... go figure

It's pretty common knowledge that if you have an outage that you can't resolve, you should power off your modem, router and computer and turn them on again in that order.

If that doesn't work, THEN you should call the cable company. Glad you discovered that.
