My wife is strictly a 'retro' gamer. She very rarely plays anything newer then games from the mid-eighties . . . except for Donkey Konga and Mario Kart.

Shes a gamer, but definately one of a different breed. Count her in the class of gamer that thinks that it doesnt get better than Animal Crossing and Harvest Moon. Oh well, better than not one at all I suppose...

I'm one of the lucky few who married a woman who loves playing games just as much, if not more, than I do. My wife is a die-hard Mortal Kombat fan who can wail on me almost everytime. She also loves playing Devil May Cry, Onimusha, Silent Hill series, PGR2, as well as classic games like any Mario or Zelda game. Last year, I finally got her to play some first-person shooters, and now, she's deadly in Halo and Unreal Championship. We also play ESPN/Madden and ESPN Basketball together. She didn't even balk when I told her I wanted to buy Steel Battalion. She actually told me to hurry up and order it so she could play too :)

My wife plays select games. She was a HUGE EQ fan (Long since reformed), enjoys CoH now and then and plays GC/PS2/XBox games rarely. Lately she is playing Fable and will be playing Midway Arcade Treasures 2 as the only fighting game she ever enjoyed was Mortal Kombat 2.

She hates FPS and while she enjoys watching me play most games, just leaves the room when I play them :) (Halo was the exception, she watched our son and I play through almost the entire game)

My wife professes to "hate" games. Not that she minds that I play them, she just doesn't like to play them. I don't think that she "hates" them as much as she says she does, though since she enjoys playing Fusion Frenzy, Eye Toy, Sama De Amigo, or Mario Kart with me and my son.

I voted no even though my wife is playing burnout 3 right now.

I know in a week or two max she'll bore and not touch the gamepad for another 6 months.

Yes/No polls work for guys, but not when you're mostly referring to females. Yes/No/Maybe/I have a headache/I'm too tired, might be a better selection.

I hope most gamers found a spouse that will at least tolerate their partners addiction!

I'm going to say no, and add that I'm happy about it. I'm far from a hardcore gamer. I enjoy doing certain things alone in my free time, and games are one of those things. She does enjoy mario kart, and DDR.

My old lady is definitely not a gamer. I have to agree with Best Buy Guy. You said it all for me. Now the kids are a different story. Man they never stop bugging me.

I guess I'll get them a GameCube. Those things are dirt cheap at the pawn shop.

Ms Sal once played a game of Nintendo Rampage and liked it, but not enough to play again. She tried Duck Hunt, but grew frustrated that you couldn't shoot the dog. And she has played and enjoyed a few games of Toobin' in an arcade.

That doesn't really qualify as being a gamer, does it?

My wife loves some Tetris and few old school games plus Simpsons Road rage but she hardly ever plays so I voted no. She does like to watch me play and help me out (give pointers and opinions about what I should do) in some games like Splinter Cell, Halo. In fact, I did not realize how much she liked doing this until I finished Halo while she was out of town for a few days. Boy was she mad when she came back.

Yes, Rosy is a gamer, so is her twin sister...

Sorry, must get out of the gutter and find myself a girlfriend! Somebody point me to the nearest blind supermodel!

My GF has only recently started to get into some games like Katamari Damacy and stuff like that. For her, it's the concern over the fine control requirements that most games today require. This is certainly not the case with KD.

Last night I showed her the review of Burnout 3 on X-Play, and I think she's interested in the crash portion at least. We'll know later this week.

My wife, like the first in the post, is a retro gamer. Her favorite is Millipede, although she likes Defender and Frogger as well. Her high score on Millipede is over 600,000. If you know the game, you can only restart at I think 300,000 or 350,000. Really amazing. First person shooters make her very ill. When I first bought Wolf 3d back in 91 or 92 she couldn't watch for a second, but we finished all the Leisure Suit Larry games together. 14 years and still gaming. My Son (age 9) is a HUGE FPS fan, but my daughter (age 8) likes NeverWinterNights and the Sims.
