i currently have a denon dvd-5900 which i intend to upgrade to sdi output. then, i will purchase a dvdo iscan hd+ with sdi input. i would like to sell my denon 3805 and purchase a 3806 so that i have hdmi switching. my question is, will switching the iscan's output thru a receiver degrade the video quality. i would not expect it to, but i just don't know. i don't want to go straight to my projector because i also use an htpc which i have no use for scaling. anybody using a 5805 / 4806 for video switching with iscan hd / hd+?

Is HDMI switching all that you are hoping to get from the 3806 over your 3805?

josh:

hdmi switching is the main benefit i hope to gain. the auto mic setup is a plus as well. i will be connecting my 5900 to the 3806 via the denon link 3 connection. my htpc will be connected via coax.
