I have the ProScan version of the RCA 38" hdtv. Currently my source for all programming, including hd, is Time Warner cable. I have spent some time searching through the forum but can't seem to find the answers to my questions:

1. Would the Iscan significantly improve the quality of my non-hd cable channels over the set's internal line doubler?

2. Would I be better off to buy a good non-progressive dvd player along with the Iscan and use the Iscan for both cable and dvd or should I forget the Iscan and get a good progresive dvd player?

Also, can someone give me a quick explanation of SDi and its approximate cost?

Thanks much.
