I'm sending an upconverted signal (dvd resolution to 1080p) from a yamaha s1800 dvd player or a panasonic dmp-bd60 blu-ray player into a panasonic tc-p46s1 via hdmi. From both sources the right edge of the screen has a black stripe before the image starts and the right image edge has a thin stripe of color artifacts. The issue is more pronounced with the yamaha. This is on Size setting of 2 (i.e., no overscan) on the S1. This doesn't happen when sending a blu-ray 1080p signal from the BD60.
My question: is this due to the unit providing the source signal or due to how the S1 handles the signal? In other words, will a different dvd upconverter give different (hopefully better) results or is this a S1 problem. If it is S1 related, any ideas on a fix.
Thanks in advance.
