I have an almost 2 year old Panasonic TC-P50S1. Off and on it has been having issues with the left side of the screen. There is a 2.5 inch wide section, extending all the way up and down with distorted color and lines.

Here are some pics of the

It looks like a bad display. What am I talking cost wise to repair? I can get a new TC-P50ST30 50 inch 3D Panasonic for about $730, is that a better route?

No one can give you a repair estimate without knowing what needs to be done to fix the problem. The problem could be a circuit component which may cost $100 to fix. It could require a new panel, which could cost $500.

More than likely it is a bad connection, or a circuit board going bad. Panel problems usually show black bars.
