More and more radio stations are broadcasting in "HD Radio", digital signals piggybacked on the analog channel. This allows FM stations to have CD quality sound and multicast channels, and AM stations to have FM quality sound and in stereo. The problem is that very few people can hear these signals. There is a great solution. Cable systems should carry local (and possibly out-of-market) HD radio stations on digital cable (preferably clear QAM). There are far more clear QAM tv's in use, plus all the digital converter boxes. This would bring the benefits of HD radio to many more listeners.
