I currently have a Yamaha RX-V1800 with the following 7.1 speakers

Front Right and Left - Energy Take Twr

Front Center and Surrounds - Energy Take FPS

Rear Centers - Energy Take LCR

Sub - HSU VTF-3 MK2 with turbocharger

Reasons I want to upgrade...$1500 from my birthday burning a hole in my pocket plus I want HD Radio and just always have to have the latest and greatest for my money. Network stuff sounds cool too but not a must.

I watch mainly Blu-rays and play my Xbox 360 and PS3 with the system.

Here is what I am looking at:

Onkyo TX-NR906

Denon AVR-3808CI

Yamaha RX-V1900

Yamaha RX-V3900BL

Any suggestions? I read the Onkyos run hot. I am not going to use the video processing so will it still run hot? I am just going to use the HDMI as pass through and let my TV do the processing since it has been ISF calibrated.

For $1,500, I'd go with the Emotiva UMC-1 which is due soon and a UPA-7 amp. If you don't like separates and want a receiver, I'd go with Marantz, HK, or Denon myself.

I'll have to read up on Emotiva. Not big on separates but that is because I have never tried it. Denon seems to get a lot of positive feedback. I just know the Onkyo is newer than the Denon I have been looking at but I guess because it is newer doesn't make it better.
