I was wondering if anyone here has imported any of the newer Japanese Blu-Ray players with large built in HDDs? I was just browsing the BR section @ Amazon.jp and noticed the players were extremely expensive, then I noticed they all had hard drives. I figured at least a few people here would own one of these (hell you can spend more on an older model from Denon) and they play the same region movies as the ones here in the US.

What are these really for? They can't possibly just be for BD-Live, are they for HD OnDemand services or something, can you record over the air with them?


And their players look so much cooler than ours...

even though I personalyl wouldn't want a red one. The Japanese are always one step ahead...
