JBL 530 vs Polk LSiM703

has anyone owned both? thoughts?
I purchased 530s a pair at $300 (plus tax) on sale a couple months ago and am super happy with them.
I see 703s are on sale at adorama. $518 shipped a pair. (no tax)

any super difference between the two? (other than the polk's deeper bass?) I dont know if adorama offers free returns.

oh damn, adorama, i put the 703s in my cart just because, i dont know, just because.
right away i was offered VIP360 (for free) which includes 2 days shipping and i get 60 days return shipping for free.
i hate this hobby

I suspect the JBL will be better up top: compression driver in a horn/waveguide, more clarity, better behaved dispersion. Looks like the batmobile and wouldn't put them on my desk, though. Would be curious to hear them side by side.

when you look at them online, they look bad (very bad with grills off). but up close and personal they are very good looking to my surprise.

when i got them i assumed the lady friend would hate them.

she said they look like vajayjays.
works for me

i dont think i can outdue the jbl 530s ($300 a pair) and 520c at $150 unless i spend at least a thousand more.
adorama deal is too good. i get 60 days to listen to the polks and free return shipping.

they are all pink inside. no point intended

i thought i was done with the upgrade bug damn it.
i suspect if i order the polks i will notice subtle differences in the treble, major difference in the bass, as usual.

A lot of us have made that declaration. In my case Six upgrades ago. Then again after the sub and again after the AVR...….

i was also in the process of making the purchase when they sold out.. now i'm debating sierra 1's the 703's or nht c3 .. i'm thinking they all are solid choices.. i have those canton's in my mind as well , i just don't like a4l's return policy ... i'm in phoenix , so ascend is an easy return ..

A second sub will be added and maybe a 3rd LS50 in the middle. I don't see much improvement beyond that without going the next level up which would be beyond reach financially and wouldn't sound that much better.
