eARC on the C1 will not passthrough any DTS, DTS:X, etc. audio - only Dolby flavors. Also there are numerous forum reports that eARC on the LG C1 will not dependably passthrough multi-channel LPCM. There's even a change.org petition asking LG to fix LPCM passthrough. (LG is not the only TV brand whose eARC will not passthrough LPCM.)

P.S. Apparently it is an EDID/metadata issue and not a bandwidth issue. It should be easy for LG to fix if they want.

I can't imagine why LG would do this. It's bad enough for LG not to support HDR10+ but to not support DTS & LPCM is far worse. This precludes the connecting of a media player or BD/UHD player thru the TV. I would never have imagined this to be the case, if I had not read your post. It's one thing to not support these codecs on cheaper models but considering that the C1 is one of the most premium TVs, this is totally inexcusable.

FWIW the mulit-channel LPCM via eARC issue is a bug that LG is working on fixing. (LPCM is used a lot by gaming consoles.)

Hi, would you be so kind to provide a source for this? Has LG specifically mentioned this anywhere?
I connect my soundbar to LG C1 with eARC passthrough and it shows Multichannel PCM

Honestly, finding out about this DTS issue now as a young avid movie buff and just getting into the swing of things. A lot of older films use DTS and 4K UHD transfers even for films as recent as Tenet are making me regret my choices. I can use my Xbox Series X to encode DTS to Atmos PCM on the fly, but that's not the point. The XSX can output DTS and my JBL 9.1 can receive it. The fact that my expensive AF LG C1 won't passthrough by LG's choice. Is straight ********.

Is the new update 03.34.55 fix’s this problem?
Can the 9.1 passthrough [email protected]? JBL support said that it could just run the xsx to the jbl then to the c1...

I currently have a 9.1 and xsx looking to get a [email protected] tv.... please lmk
