I am moving into my new place in the upcoming weeks and would like a few responses if possible on some questions I had. I work for a full line electronics store so I get the stuff we sell at cost which makes me want to buy what we sell. I purchased an Hitachi 50" Cineform for the Television and Im just making the final decisions on the surround sound.
The room it will be going in is a rectangle type room approx 14ft wide by 22 to 25 ft long. the one problem is that at the front of the room which is where the television will be is a large opening into my dining room. Im not positive how that will effect everything. Now Ideally with the size of setup of the room I was wanting to go with a 7.1 system. The receiver I will be using will be an Onyko TXSR-702B. As far as speaker choices we dont sell that many different seperates but we do carry most of the Northridge E series.
I have 3 main questions, the first being will I notice a gaint difference between bookshelfs and towers up front. One thing to keep in mind is that we do not carry the E50's we only have the E30's so I would be able to choose from the E30's or else the E80 or E100 for floor towers in the front. I am leaning towards the Floor models. Now as far as the two to choose from, Is it defintly worth the extra money to go with the 100's? I will be using the setup 65% HT/TV 20% XBOX and 15% music.
Second question: Being as we only carry the E30's and the E10's I was planning to get 2 pairs of the E30's for the surround speakers. I have not heard much on here as far as using the E30's and both the backs and the surrounds. I would assume it would be a fantastic speaker for both but wanted any input if avaible.
Third and final question: The JBL subs that are avaible, I have had good experiences with them as far as demoing them to customers and such but was wondering if it woudl be ideal to go with all JBL and use either the E150 or E250 or mabye go with an off brand sub. I am not looking to be shaking the house or anything like that but would it be best if I was staying with JBL to just go with the 250 over the 150?
Sorry about the long post. Just moving into my first house and first real theater system so Ive been researching a while and finally came to a pretty close decision and just need some final input. I will be purchasing all of this and setting it all up next week and will defintly post some pics.
Also does anyone who owns the E30's have recomendations for good matching stands?
Thank you all in advance for any input you may have.
