Jet Li's Fearless: Tier 0 or Tier 1?

DVD Talk reviews Jet Li's Fearless and calls it a reference transfer. For those who have watched the film, what are your thoughts? Tier 0 or Tier 1?

It was a very good transfer and definitely deserves Tier 1, but I wouldn't call it a reference like KK.
I really don't want to blind buy this one at its current price, but frickin Netflix doesn't have it yet.
I'd say its between tier1 and tier 2. Its good, but not that amazing from what I've seen though I didn't watch it all the way through on my HD-DVD since I had already seen the movie several times.

hmm that's odd because I got it from Netflix during its release week. Great film definitely Tier 1

I blind bought it and think it's pretty good. Knowing what I know now, I'd definitely buy it again. YMMV.
Defintely worth the purchase! Get it...
on my calibrated 1080i CRT TV, it was one of the best HD-DVD's i've seen and the story was great too, especially if you like martial arts movies.
I actually have it from Netflix right now... just put it on your queue it will ship even though it shows as a "save" item
It's not a bad flick. The plot is pretty thin though. There is practically a fight every 5 minutes. There's got to be 20 fights, and another is in the deleted scenes! The fighting is pretty imaginative. Ultimately there's not enough substance to make it stay in my collection and some of the acting is like 70's Kung Fu theater. Beautiful production design though.

I just deleted and re-added it, but there doesn't appear to be anyway to move it to the top of my queue. Did you guys have no other titles in your queue except this one?
there should be a tier 2 b/c that's where I think it belongs

how can anyone think this can compete w/ even the top tier 1 titles is beyond me. For a better PQ Jet Li film, check out Unleashed.

I figured 90% will choose either Tier 0 or Tier 1. Tried to add Tier 2 later before anyone voted but couldn't. I wonder what HiDef Digest will give it?
Damn it. Amazon.ca still says 4 weeks for delivery.
Very enjoyable film. Not much to complain about regarding the transfer. It did have some edge enhancement( in the scene where the Junk(sp) is out on the sea) it is quite visible. Not at the best but at their feet in pq.

Art
I only own Fearless, Superman II, Superman Returns, Tokyo Drift, and MI:III, and Fearless doesn't look quite as good as the others, although I didn't watch it all the way through (already seen it countless times). I think I was underwhelmed because the Hong Kong SD-DVD version I have looked really good anyway. I'll have to watch it again- the review makes it seem like it's the best PQ available... I didn't quite see that.
I think it was quite soft except for the closeups. There was very little in terms of fine object detail. I really really like the AQ though
IMO fearless does not belong in teir 1 or 0, possibly tier 2.

its exceptional for an asian film, but compared to the other hd dvds out there its an average looking transfer.
My xbox 360 add-on won't play Fearless all the way through without quitting to the dashboard. It'll play for 15-20 minutes at a time and then crash to the dashboard. Do I simply have a bad disc or is there something else funny going on with my hardware?
