Hopefully some day we'll be able to buy just the Blu-ray and not the whole set.
Listed on Amazon sites is a 2-disc 40th anniversary edition, plus the larger 5-disc deluxe edition. However it does not indicate what the 2-disc version will have in terms of 5.1 versions/content. I am assuming it will not be a lossless version, unfortunately.

All indications are the 2-disc version is just the double redbook cd, no multichannel content.

With all these special super deluxe editions from Tull, Pink Floyd, Steven Wilson, etc. just give us the option to buy the hi-rez, lossless surround discs please!
check out the upcoming releases at the burning shed website. Looks like two more Crimson releases in DVDA format are upcoming.

Check out the Crimson thread for more info on this.
Back in June, EMI Canada confirmed that they were getting lots of comments on their website about the fact that there would be no Aqualung hi-res surround mix. They also said that they were "passing the comments on" (presumably to EMI in London). And now we have the hi-res mix.

All I'm saying is that it would appear that they listened. If people have strong feelings about how this release is being marketed, a comment to EMI might do some good.
