Hi guys, im just curious if anyone thinks this would be a decent sub to center a DIY HT sub project around. Doesn't appear to be ultra heavy, has decent Qts. I'm just wondering if for $370 you can find a better suited driver for a HT setup. I'm guessing factoring in a decent 500w amp for the sub and box you could probably get away with a budget of $700 or so for a sealed sub?

IMO for $370 you could do better. Something like these would be awesome.

I'm going to be using the ED 13AV.2 and this amp soon http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_...roducts_id=500 . I think these will be better buys, but I don't see anything wrong with using the JL 13W6, were did you find it so cheap? You could even use a cheaper amp than the 1300watt amp with the ED sub and MDF is only 20-30bucks for 4x8x.75 at Lowes of Home Depot.
